The Global Goals
This short but heartwarming film about Liverpool FC and Mekfa, a young boy from a slum in Bangkok,was broadcasted as part of the Global Goals Project by United Nations in conjunction with Standard Charter, the main sponsor of the Liverpool team and one of the founders of Global Goals Project. The film follows Mekfa, a good student with a passion for football, whose dreams become a reality when he is unexpectedly tasked with traveling to Kuala Lumpur to be the official mascot for Liverpool FC in a friendlies match between Malaysia XI during the pre-season. The film was directed by famed Thailand base actor Ananda Everingham, who participated closely in its creation. The core of the story reiterates Global Goals’ objectives of shedding light on world issues in engaging and innovative ways.
